Another Day in Railay

We had been pretty lucky so far weather wise during our trip but the forecast today looked just questionable enough that instead of booking another island hopping tour we opted to stay local so that if the weather turned dodgy we would be close enough to easily make our way home or to somewhere safe to ride it out rather than being several miles out into the Andaman Sea on a tiny boat.

Combining Work and Play in Oahu

When I had originally spoken to the organizer of the Hawaii region certifications about staying on and teaching, I was envisioning several days of traditional “mounted meeting” type clinics where I would be teaching back-to-back lessons at a facility from morning until late afternoon.

The mild weather in November meant that we were able to get some good hikes in and we were able to do some exploration of the Highway 11 “adventure corridor.

On a cold blustery day in early November we bundled up and headed up the Saluda grade to Hendersonville, NC for the annual Green River Narrows kayak race.
