My Riverbend Journey Comes to an End

My contract to run/lease Riverbend Equestrian Park ended on August 31, 2022. I had been at Riverbend for 12 years so the transition was bittersweet but it was definitely time- for the first time in my life I experienced true burnout and was hearing it in my voice while teaching. Handing it over to another horse professional has allowed me to focus solely on teaching which I love, and I feel like I got my teaching mojo back when I’m not having to also run a barn.

In May of 2011 when I began my Riverbend journey, I never could have imagined what incredible people it would attract and that I would get to form relationships with. I have been continually amazed and uplifted by all the love and support that each of them showed me during my time at that special place. It was fulfilling and rewarding to be able to play a role in so many special people’s horsey experiences.

With this chapter ending, that meant for another huge change: I would now be a boarder myself! Scott and I moved Elliot to a wonderful farm in Anderson that has huge pastures and grass year round. So much grass that poor Elliot finds himself in a grazing muzzle even during the winter now but what a wonderful problem to have. He settled in and seems quite content with his new living situation.

I am enjoying being a boarder!
